My Exit Strategy

1. With my business, I intend to keep it longer than five years. After 5+ years in service, I will consider selling it to someone else who is capable of living out the goals of the company and managing it well. The money I invested and saved up from my business I will put to the side for future use, like college funds for my children or emergencies.

2. If I am going to start a business, I need to commit to the enterprise for more than just 5 years. I will gain experience in many areas of life on a number of levels, which will help me later in life as well. I hope with the money I saved I can also ensure financial stability later on in my life.

3. Honestly, this has not impacted my decisions made in my concept at all. This is a goal I intend to complete after achieving success in my business. I don't intend to run my own business forever.

  1. This is an interesting exit strategy. I decided to keep my business and pass it down to my children. It is definitely a smart idea to keep it for at least 5 years. I do think that you might have to keep it a bit longer if you want to sell it for a good profit. Usually the first 5 years or so of a company show wether the company will become profitable or not. This is why I think you might need to stay in business for a couple more years before selling it. Overall, I think it is a great idea that you want to sell it and use the money to focus on the future of your children, and your financial stability. 2. I liked your exit strategy. It is sweet and simple. Keeping the business for five years seems like a good amount of time. In 5 years, you can grow it a lot. You also seem like you have a good plan for the future. It is wise to save money for your family and emergencies. I also liked the meme that you added at the end. It complemented your writing. I have a similar exit strategy.

  3. Hello Rocio,

I have a similar exit strategy as yours. I decided to keep it for few years and sell it to someone else. A good thing about doing this is that most business lose competitiveness after 5 to 10 years. Five years seem adequate amount of time to make the most profits by selling it. Great job!
