Customer Interviews No. 3

1. The questions I intended on asking were specifically related to studying, disadvantages found in studying, and the location/significance of the library. I intend to ask students at the college level, preferably those I have never even seen before and do not know personally.

2. The interviews are linked down below. I was only able to get 4 total this time.

3. I learned that once again I still do not like interviewing people out of the blue and recording them on video. It's just not something I am used to, even after doing this three times. I also learned that you need to have a balance of general and specific in your questions so people being interviewed know what the topic is about and still have space to speak their mind on it. What surprised me the most was that the vast majority of people I interviewed said yes when I asked the first time to interview them. I only received one no and one person being a no-show in these three assignments. For change, I want to be able to better plan my interviews ahead of time like I did with the first two so I don't fall short of the instructions. Due to going home for the weekend, I did not have time and people to interview on these particular questions and topic.

  1. Rosie,
I think you did a great job! I had a hard time with this assignment as well. I didn't have a hard time asking them questions. It was when I asked to record them. That's when I had the hard time. No one really likes to be recorded. This assignment is very valuable though. Its great research. I missed out on two of these interview assignments. However, your welcome to check my beginning one out at: http://entuf.blogspot.com/2016/02/interviewing-customers-no-2.html

  2. Rosie,

Overall a very good job on the third part of this assignment! It is not easy to interview strangers and ask them random questions without it being a little bit weird. I agree that interviewing is all about the questions you ask. If you ask good, non biased questions, you can collect a bunch of information. I was kind of surprised how willing people were to answer questions and give me feedback!

  3. I think it's great you had such positive feedback. Carrying around a charger is pain and it's easy to forget at home. Finding outlets can also be a pain at peak times and having access to more chargers would be great. I liked your interviews and how you kept them going for a few minutes. 4. Hi Rosie! I love how your interviewees gave such good feedback and seemed engaged with you in the interview! For me personally, Library West is the place to be if I want to get a large amount of work done in one sitting , but like in interview 1, it gets crowded during peak times. Lets not talk about Marston being the new 24 hour library though... there is hardly any access to outlets and it also gets overcrowded even during non peak times. I think the capability to get more done in libraries depends on the time of day ad the time of the semester ultimately.
